Be decent, be good, and be whoever the f*ck you want to be. This cozy flannel Poubelle is lined in night-sky blue, embellished with a reclaimed vintage rhinestone earring, and finished with a hand-beaded message in irridiscent purples and blues.
Poubelle Bags are one-of-a-kind, 100% handmade accessories for carrying your stuff in style!
All standard-sized bags are fully-lined, approximately 8" x 4 1/4", with a card-sized 2 1/2" x 4" interior pocket, magnet closures and metal carrying rings - the perfect size for keys, a phone and ear buds.
These scrappy little bags are obsessive followers of slow fashion, based on the inalienable idea that fabulous fabrics and amazing accessories all deserve a second life.
Each Poubelle is hand-crafted in Albuquerque, New Mexico using reclaimed fabrics (70's bedsheets, antique baby clothes, retired showgirl costumes, thrifted T's and more!) plus vintage buttons, recycled and repurposed accessories and wiseass designs. Every bag is a unique and unrepeatable piece of art that you can put your stuff in!
Oh and standard U.S. shipping is always free on all orders over $15!

Nasty Canasta,
Dollar Store Showgirl
Created by NYC neo-burlesque legend, veteran costumer and master tailor Nasty Canasta, Poubelle Bags began as a scrap-sewing pandemic project. The idea grew when Nasty was forced to clean out her sewing and craft stash (and raise funds) for a cross-country move, and finally became Totally A Thing when, distracted by the fabulous Southwestern landscape, her focus shifted from large-scale costuming to small, unique art/sewing projects.
Poubelle Bags embody the #DollarStoreShowgirl philosophy of fabulousness based on forced creativity rather than an unlimited budget; the "make do and mend" idea behind slow fashion; and Nasty's firm belief that there is absolutely no need in any circumstance to wear what everyone else is wearing.
Nasty Canasta is also the creator of Brooklyn Boas, handmade vegan tulle boas for showponies, drag artists, and other fabulous fancy people and pets.
